Wellbeing

It can be argued that all initiatives and issues ultimately impact the wellbeing of the population of Guildford.  This area provides a selection of posts that directly impact on the wellbeing of residents and thus range from the from expansion of the Surrey Hills National Landscape, Local Footpaths & Greenspace to the provision of new Health Facilities.

Posts can be found below on these topics related to Guildford and and from elsewhere.

By its nature many aspects are captured by other Workgroups e.g. Planning - Looking at good layouts/enviroinmental impacts, Transport -Provision of Sustainable and Active Travel Options. We do have a small team of interested members working on encouraging the NHS to develop plans to support the ever expanding population of Guildford.  Identifying how to provide Health Facilities is crucial to creating a robust local plan that is due in updated form in 2028.

The Government has a clear policy to encourage Neighbourhood Health Care Centres to bring more treatment into the community and also free up overloaded Hospital Sites.

We are concerned that the changes to Local Government and the organisation of the NHS (NHS England is being disbanded) will prevent opportunities to develop a proper intergrated care capability for Guildford residents based on new and upgraded facilities.
