Solar Farm at Blackwell Farm

Use

Installation of a solar farm Photovoltaic Arrays (PV), associated switch gear, access tracks, and underground cable connections.

Location west of Blackwell Farm, Hogs Back, Guildford, GU3

Scale

Uses three fields occupied by panels having a total area of about 21.7 ha. The PV panels will cover an area of about 5.7 ha, about 26% of the total fields area.   The intention is to allow animals to graze underneath the panels.

Comment

A scheme that may set a precedent as it is proposed for a Greenbelt site.  A fuller description of the planning environment for Solar Farms can be found at link below.

Blue- Access track which joins the Research Park road network by the Vet School.
