St Edward have released a short video giving an update on the status to the plans being developed for the North Street Site. The major item of news is that St Edward in consultation with GBC and SCC are minded to leave the Bus Station on its existing site. St Edward are proposing to improve the bus station if it remains in-situ. This change has caused a rethink of the overall development and new proposals are being developed.
Retaining the Bus Station in situ should allow St Edward to save costs and allow a viable scheme to be developed without having to build to the mass and scale originally proposed. An additional benefit may be the need to have a temporary Bus Station for a period is removed.
