Tiger Developments Ltd are starting a public consultation exercise for the Plaza Site – the vacant plot of brownfield land located between Bury Street and Portsmouth Road on the fringe of the town centre.
The proposals seek to transform the site to create a high-quality co-living development aimed at graduates, young professionals and the business community who want to live and work in Guildford.
Importantly, Tiger are also committed to providing on-site affordable housing in the form of communal studios offered at affordable / discounted rents and aimed primarily at key workers.
The public consultation is planned to be launched on Friday 11th June, finishing on Friday 9th July. Tiger Developments hope to provide the local community with an opportunity to view the proposals on a dedicated website, share any comments and feedback, and engage direct with the project team through a dedicated project webinar.
Information on the consultation can be found on the Guildford Plaza Website. In addition to local publicity a freephone telephone number will also be available for questions and queries (0800 130 3000).
We will be holding a virtual drop-in session on Saturday 26th June between 10.00 am and 11.00 am for people who wish to ask questions of the project team. This will comprise a half-hour presentation followed by half an hour for questions. The team will be available beyond 11.00 am if we need more time for questions.
Help us make Guildford better
We want our town to be vibrant, attractive and liveable. We support development that brings a sense of place and enhances the best aspects of our town. If such aims can be embraced, we believe Guildford has the chance to lead the way in enabling sensitive and sustainable development.
Pressures for development are increasing. Planning rules are being eased. The Society’s commitment to standing up for Guildford is needed more than ever.
Getting involved allows the society to continue its work. We welcome new members, from every age and background. Membership provides an opportunity for you to contribute to the continued health of the town and surrounding area, and to meet other people who care about Guildford.
