Guildford - Development on the Cathedral Stag Hill

22 December 2021

Planning application Submitted

The Planning application for 124 Dwellings on the Stag Hill site has just been lodged with the council.  The applicants are the Cathedral in partnership with Vivid, a Housing Association.

This site has been the subject of considerable debate as it sits on the Southern slopes of Stag Hill and is visible from a wide area of Guildford, including the Downs.  It will frame the lower levels of the Cathedral particularly at the eastern end.  The Cathedral is a Grade II* Listed Buiding.

Access to the site is also an issue with concerns on vehicular traffic and pedestrian access.

The 100 plus documents for the application can be found at Planning Application 21/P/02333.

The Society will be considering and responding during January 2022.  For Local Plan Allocation see link
