Significant Lutyens House for Sale in Godalming
Sir Edwin Lutyens created many buildings in Surrey. One of his earliest houses has recently come onto the market, having been in the hands of the same family for about 50 years.
The Red House, dating from early in Lutyens career, is one of his most inventive domestic buildings, creating a very spacious 12 bedroom house on a dramatic steeply sloping site. The house dates from 1897–99 and was built for the Reverend Henry James Evans, a retired housemaster and honorary chaplain of nearby Charterhouse School.

Maintaining and upgrading a property of this nature is a very expensive business. A new owner will need deep pockets and a passion for Arts and Crafts style properties to support this house correctly.
