People’s Emergency Briefing - Film

You are invited to a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing, brought to your screen by St Catherine’s Village Association and Guildford Society.

The People’s Emergency Briefing is a British documentary film, approximately 50 minutes long, about the growing climate and nature crisis and what it means for the future of the United Kingdom.

It is inspired by the idea of a national emergency briefing to explain the seriousness of the environmental challenges facing the country. What happens in the film? The film is presented as a briefing to the British public, rather than a conventional nature documentary.

It explores five main themes:

  1. The climate crisis
  2. The destruction of nature
  3. Threats to Britain's food security
  4. The economic consequences
  5. What can be done?

This film features Chris Packham as anchor presenter, several leading scientists, a former general and (of course) Jennifer Saunders - all being far too frank about where things are heading and what can be done about it.

This screening is sponsored jointly by the Guildford Society and the St Catherine’s Village Association. Admission is free of charge, but you must register to be admitted, so that we can manage numbers. Refreshment from our bar will be served upon your arrival.
