North Street Marketing Starts
Berkley Homes are shortly to start marketing the North Street development as Arch & Bloom. They have recently applied to put up signage on the first building on the ground floor on North Street as they will open the bottom of the building as a marketing centre which will start operation this year.
To support their marketing push they have recently launched a marketing video for the Development, which also extols the benefits of living in Guildford particulaly its links to London. See Video.
Berkley are also marketing the site in the Far East with a launch in Singapore last April and via international agents
Solving Housing Deficit in Guildford
It is a continuing concern that the Town Centre Developments may do little to supply affordable housing. If flats are bought by foreign investors they may lie empty for large portions of the year, bringing little extra life to the centre of the town. The example of the flats in Vauxhall in london seen as one arrives in Waterloo which appear only partially occupied would be a poor example for Guildford to follow.
Help us make Guildford better
We want our town to be vibrant, attractive and liveable. We support development that brings a sense of place and enhances the best aspects of our town. If such aims can be embraced, we believe Guildford has the chance to lead the way in enabling sensitive and sustainable development.
Pressures for development are increasing. Planning rules are being eased. The Society’s commitment to standing up for Guildford is needed more than ever.
