Guildford Design Awards Pop-Up Exhibition
The Society was delighted to take up an opportunity on the 19th and 20th June to exhibit in the Tunsgate Quarter 12 of the winners and runners up of the 2025 awards. The exhibition included a a short video presentation on a few of the winners, and also highlighted some of the planning issues affecting Guildford.
Visitors enjoyed looking at these projects and were keen to discuss wider planning issues in Guildford prompted by the presentation. There were many varied opinions on what constitutes “good design” with many of the different projects being singled out for praise during the opening. The level of interest demonstrates that people care deeply about build design, innovation and public space in Guildford though several commented that they feel that they are not consulted or kept informed on major projects.
The Guildford Society is immensely grateful to Steve Cotney and all the staff at Tunsgate Quarter who gave us a warm welcome, and opened up a temporarily empty shop unit for The Society to use.
Entries being sought for 2027 Awards.
Projects need to be situated in Guildford Borough and be completed between June 2025 and June 2027. If wish to propose a entry please fill in the form below.
