The Awards ceremony for the Guildford Design Awards was held on the evening13th November at 3000 Cathedral Hill, one of the award-winning buildings.
The awards are run jointly by The Guildford Society and Guildford Borough Council every two years.
The awards were presented by the Mayor of Guildford, Cllr Howard Smith. In addition to the short listed contenders for the award the event The event was also attended by Councilors and Officers from the Borough Council, invited guests and members of the Guildford Society.

Peter Coleman, chairman of the Judging Panel, commented:
“The Guildford Design Awards, as well as encouraging good design standards, give an opportunity to gather together in one place and recognise the scattered locations of great design work in our borough over the last two years. Hopefully too, publicising the results will bring this work, some of which is on open view, to public attention and appreciation. All the judges thank those who put forward their entries.”

Two new awards were awarded this yesr.
In recognition of the increasing use of Modern Methods of Construction in Buildings an award was given for a building using this method of construction.
A Winner of the Winners was also annouced which in the view of the judges was the best of the Winners.
Comendations were given to a number of other entrants who had been shorlisted.
