Guildford Design Awards Exhibition - POPS UP Again
The Society is marking the annual Heritage Open Days Event by running again its pop-up exhibition of the Guildford Design Awards 2025.
The Exhibition will be at locations over the period of the Heritage Open Days
Barclays Bank North Street
The Exhibtion will be fully visible in Bank Hours in the Foyer between 10:00 to 16:00hrs on the 11th, 12th, 14th and 15th September.
Barclays Bank is a building designed in the 1970's, outside the Bank Hours the Exhibition will be visible through the curved show window.
G Live Upper High Street
The Exhibition will be on display on the Mezanine Flooor above the Foyer between 10:30 and 14:30 on the 16th to 19th September. G Live is a RIBA Award-winning entertainment and concert hall designed by Austin-Smith:Lord which since opening in 2011 has become a very popular venue in Surrey..
The Guildford Design Awards are run by the Guildford Society in conjuction with Guildford Borough with the aim of encouraging good design and recognising the achievements of clients, builders, architects and artists who are making a positive contribution to our future built heritage. This exhibition represents a sample of the projects selected for commendation or award in 2025. Some will become well known landmarks in the public realm and others offer a rare glimpse of hidden gems. We hope the exhibition will inspire interest and raise expectations for all development in the Borough.
Heritage Open Days
This is a national event running from the 11th to 202th September. A large number of properties not normally open to the public can be viewed. You can see details of properties open in Guildford at this link.
Entries being sought for 2027 Awards.
The Guildford Design Awards are held every other year and are selected over a wide range of categories ranging from “New Commercial Building” to “Small Conservation Project”. We are now interested in collecting potential entries for the 2027 awards, if you know of a potential building, or a public art instalation that should be considered please provide us with with brief details in the form below.
The Guildford Society has been a focus for all who care about Guildford’s heritage, built and natural environment since 1896. We are a registered charity offering a broad ranging programme of talks, visits and walks to promote excellence in design and place making. We look forward to seeing you soon!
