MOCAP at the Station, Plans for Bright Hill Car Park
You may be wondering what MOCAP means, it is a key part of the proposed redevelopment of No1 Farnham Road for which plans have just been submitted. Another site progressing is redevelopment of Bright Hill Car Park where a formal application is expected shortly.
No 1 Farnham Road
The proposed redevelopment of No1 Farnham Road, which has been previously approved, has been revised to suit the new tenant of the site who are one of the companies in the thriving Guildford Games Cluster. The Development of the Building is less extensive that the previous proposal with more of the existing building being repurposed. A key feature will be a large MOCAP (Motion Capture) room which allows for tracking of actors acting out scenes and capture of their movement into digital form that can be edited into games sequences. The MOCAP Room is behind the large wall in the picture of the east side of the building overlooking the railway shown above. Planning application is 26/P/01026
Bright Hill/Robin Hood
A private developer has submited a proposal for a development that takes over the lower space of Bright Hill Car Park for development as a flats. The two upper tiers of the car park will remain in use after ground stabilisation which will enable currently closed areas to be reopened, but Bright Hill Car Park will be permanently reduced. Planning Application is 26/P/01070
