Architecture Lecture 2018


The Guildford Society's Annual Architecture Lecture will take place on the 6th November.  The lecture is hosted and supported by the University of Surrey, sponsored by Martin Grant Homes, and supported by the Guildford Magazine.

Alister Kratt is a Board Director with LDA Design.  By background he is a landscape architect and masterplanner.    LDA are a large multidisciplinary architectural practice whose origins lie in landscape architecture.  LDA were heavily involved in the 2012 Olympic Park project in London.


LDA highlight that ' The original meaning of the word landscape is to create a place where people belong. Landscape connects people and place, and knowing how people use space gives breadth and depth to our work as urban designers, town planners and environmental planners'.


Alister Kratt is a Board Director at LDA Design, where he specialises in large, multidisciplinary projects and development in sensitive contexts. He leads Energy and Infrastructure teams with expertise in nuclear, wave and tidal, EfW and port sectors. He also leads Development and Regeneration teams with particular experience in university and mixed use development. Alister is a landscape architect and masterplanner.


Recent projects he has been involved with include work on Museums in Cambridge, CenterParc Developments and the proposed Swansea Barrage.
