THE GUILDFORD SOCIETY |

MEMBERSHIP |
||
We would like you to join us.To apply for membership, please print the application form and return to the membership secretary at the address below.The subscription year runs from 1st April.We are just one of over 750 Civic Societies throughout the country, affiliated to the Civic Voice. Nationally, that’s a lot of people who share the same concerns over their local heritage, and want to promote a pleasant and sustainable environment for present and future generations. The Guildford Society is politically neutral, and strictly independent. We work both with statutory bodies and voluntary organisations, and are respected by the Authorities for the responses we make to planning and pre-planning proposals. Nevertheless, our influence is determined not just by the quality of our responses, but the weight of representation of our members’ views. The more members we have the more we can achieve. Membership Benefits Apart from demonstrating your interest in Guildford and its environment, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the activities organised by the Social Committee directly for members’ benefit. There are many different events to which you will be welcome as members. The programme for the year includes a variety of visits, lectures, and social events for the enjoyment of members. The Newsletters which all members receive, contain substantial and informative articles of local issues. The Society's membership Secretary is Mr John Shorto, 48 Oakfields, Guildford, Surrey GU3 3AU who will be pleased to receive enquiries. Comments and suggestions are always welcome. Please send them to membership@guildfordsociety.org.uk by clicking this link. (November 2011) |
